Broadband Access Ohio is successful through a combination of issue monitoring, member engagement, legislative and regulatory advocacy, research, and communications.

Benefits of Joining Broadband Access Ohio includes:

Advocacy – Direct connection to state policymakers and regulators. Respected government affairs representation on issues surrounding internet access in front of the Ohio legislature, executive branch and state agencies.

Research – Access to research, information, and subject-matter expertise on issues related to internet access and community broadband network development.

Engagement – Opportunities to serve, lead and play a key role in helping our growing association develop policies and stances on internet access issues.

Stay-Informed – The ability to stay updated on internet access policy issues, news and current events. We have several planned communications that will be shared with members, including any relevant media stories from across the state.

Networking – Networking opportunities to meet other community leaders and experts in the internet access sphere.

Membership Tiers

Associate Member (Annual $500) May attend meetings and serve on committees (including voting on matters before that committee), other than the Executive Committee, but who shall otherwise be non-voting members and who shall not serve on the Board of Trustees or be officers of the Association.  They may not act as a sponsor for an affiliated member.

Affiliated Member (Annual $750) – This is a specialized option that is reserved as the only option for vendors. To obtain this role, you are required to receive the sponsorship of two regular or sponsor members. May attend meetings and serve on committees (including voting on matters before that committee), other than the Executive Committee, but who shall otherwise be non-voting members and who shall not serve on the Board of Trustees or be officers of the Association.

Regular Member (Annual $1,500) – May attend meetings, serve on all committees, may be elected to serve on the Board of Trustees, may be elected as officers of the Association, may otherwise have full voting authority as a member and may sponsor an affiliated member.

Sponsoring Member (Annual $5,000) – Has the same rights as regular members, the first ten (10) of which shall also serve automatically as trustees on the Board of Trustees.  The maximum number of sponsoring members to serve on the Board of Trustees is ten (10).
